Case 96: Calf Hematoma || Ultrasound

    

Clinical Features:

A 68-year-old male patient came with

- Left calf pain & swelling.

- H/o antiplatelet therapy.

Ultrasound Features:

A well-defined oval heterogeneous area is seen within the gastrocnemius muscle.

Remember:

Hematoma will change its echogenicity from hyperechoic to anechoic with time. So, in confusing cases, follow-up scans may help.
