Case 07: Retroperitoneal Hematoma Ultrasound

Introduction:

Retroperitoneal Hematoma may be found in patients with abdominal trauma.

Clinical Features:

Middle aged patient came with the history of
1. Blunt abdominal trauma due to industrial injury few days back.
2. Right hypochondriac swelling.

Clinically, the patient was stable, no sign of shock.

Ultrasound Findings:

1. A localized retroperitoneal hazy collection with internal different level of echogenicity, is noted at the right hypocondriac region, extending up to the right lumber region.
2. The collection is not communicated with liver, right kidney, pancreas or aorta.
3. No other definite organic abnormality.
4. No pelvic collection is noted.
